Last week she teamed up with Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise & Innovation, Frances Fitzgerald TD to hold a community meeting with residents at St Thomas’s National School.
Councillor Casserly said: “It was fantastic to see so many enthusiastic residents eager to discuss crime prevention and safety in the community.”
“Every community or neighbourhood, no matter how big or small, can set up a Neighbourhood Watch. Some estates in Lucan have already done this and it has proven very successful.”
The Lucan councillor and resident also thanked Crime Prevention Officer Sergeant Vincent Connolly for attending the meeting and offering invaluable tips on how to be safe at home.
Residents from other areas of Lucan and Palmerstown who would like to start similar initiatives are invited to contact Councillor Casserly.
